Dr. M. Brian Blake
Dr. M. Brian Blake is a President of Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. He leads the State of Georgia’s largest university spanning 6 campuses and a community of nearly 53,000 students and 7,000 faculty and staff. Georgia State is one of the most ethnically and socioeconomically diverse Research universities in the United States. Dr. Blake led the creation of a strategic plan for the university that emphasises four pillars: Research and Innovation, Student Success, College to Careers, and Identity and Placemaking.
Prior to Georgia State, Dr. Blake served for 26 years in administrative and faculty roles at George Washington University, Drexel University, University of Miami, University of Notre Dame, Georgetown University, but also in corporate roles with Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and The MITRE Corporation. As a scholar, Dr. Blake is most known for his contributions to the areas of internet computing and software engineering and has authored more than 250 technical papers.
Dr. Blake received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Mercer University, and a PhD in Information and Software Engineering from George Mason University.
