Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Oxford International: A Commitment to Making a Difference
At Oxford International, we believe that education has the power to change lives. Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about more than just academic excellence; it’s about making a meaningful impact on people and communities around the world.
With over 30 years in education, we’ve seen first-hand how we can influence lives positively. Our core values—passion & pride, creativity, care, integrity, and a smile—guide us in giving back and making a difference wherever we can.
What CSR Means to Us
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is about doing business in a way that benefits society and the environment. It’s our commitment to creating positive social and environmental change.
Aligning Values with Impact
We align our values with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which aim to create a better world by addressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. This alignment ensures that everything we do helps make a lasting difference in the communities we serve.
Our Recent CSR Initiatives
Compassions and Dedication
In 2023, we launched our first CSR initiative, the Community Food Drive, in Bhadra Nagar, Desale Pada, Dombivli, in India. Our team worked alongside the Mumbai-based Not-For-Profit, Sheth Shree Motisha Sadharmik Bhakti Kendra, to distribute food kits to those in need.
Reflecting on the success of this initiative, Mr. Mohit Gambir, Managing Director of Oxford International Education Services, shared, “Witnessing the joy and relief on the faces of the families we helped is an experience I cherish deeply. It reaffirms our belief in the importance of giving back to the communities that we are part of. We are excited to continue this journey and plan to organise similar activities on a larger scale across different regions in the future.”
In 2024, we continued our partnership with Sheth Shree Motisha Sadharmik Bhakti Kendra, organising a book distribution drive to inspire a love for learning. We also addressed the need for clean water in underserved areas, driven by our desire to serve with compassion and make a tangible difference in people’s lives.
Inspiring Environmental Awareness Through Education
This monsoon, we launched an educational CSR initiative to teach children about environmental stewardship. Through hands-on planting activities, we connected lessons on nature and responsibility with practical experiences. We gifted umbrellas and bags as symbols of protection and growth, encouraging children to think critically about their role in caring for the planet. This project reinforced our core values—Smile, Passion & Pride, Integrity, Creativity, and Care—and integrated environmental education with our mission to inspire the next generation to cherish and protect our natural resources.
Angel Xpress Foundation Collaboration
In 2024, we had the privilege of celebrating Holi with the underprivileged students of Angel Xpress, a Mumbai-based Not-For-Profit organisation. Through engaging in storytelling, singing, and creative activities, we aimed to share the joy and the gift of knowledge with those who may encounter obstacles in accessing education. Our heartfelt mission was to embrace the festival’s vibrant spirit while nurturing a passion for learning among these amazing individuals. We stand firm in our commitment to supporting those in need, always serving with warmth and compassion.
Accessible Learning
At Oxford International, we’re dedicated to making education accessible to everyone, especially those who need it most. Our online English courses are designed to empower displaced individuals with the language skills they need to integrate into communities and access better employment opportunities.
Gary Palmer, Managing Director, shares, “Seeing the progress and confidence our students gain is incredibly rewarding. It’s not just about learning a language; it’s about building futures.”
Since early 2022, our courses have reached over 2,150 students, providing practical skills for real-world success. With support from our partners—the University of Edinburgh, University of Glasgow, and University of Leeds—we are able to extend our reach and provide students in challenging environments with valuable language services.
Our learners often talk about the positive impact these courses have had on their lives:
Tatiana Tulska: “Having classes three times a week gives me the chance to really practice and improve my English. It’s not just about learning; it’s about connecting and growing.”
Alina Minina: “These courses have made me more confident. Sophia’s teaching style is fantastic—she makes complex topics easy and fun. The focus on pronunciation and practical topics really helped me.”
Our online courses are fully accessible on smartphones, tablets, and laptops, allowing students to learn from anywhere. With our Virtual Learning Campus, students can join monthly cohorts that provide personalised learning experiences for various proficiency levels. Each course concludes with a ‘Certificate of Completion’ and ongoing support through follow-up initiatives.
Finding Home in Education
This year, we are proud to support the ‘Finding Home in Education‘ project, in collaboration with the University of East Anglia Sanctuary Initiative and King’s College London Sanctuary Programme. This initiative, aligned with our mission of ‘Learning Without Limits,’ explores the theme of ‘Our Home’ from Refugee Week 2024, focusing on higher education as a sanctuary for displaced individuals. Through participatory art workshops led by artists Majid Adin and Dana Olarescu, students and academics from nine UK universities created impactful posters that are now exhibited across various institutions.
At Oxford International, our CSR initiatives are a testament to our unwavering commitment to positively impacting society. By empowering individuals through education, fostering community engagement, and supporting sustainable development, we can contribute to a brighter and more equitable future. As we continue to grow and expand our efforts, we remain dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Together, we can achieve lasting change and build a better world for future generations.
