Beach – What is better than the beach? San Francisco have great beaches you can relax at on a warm sunny day. Take a stroll or sunbathe at Ocean Beach, located near the Richmond district to the west of San Francisco which offers a pretty beach area right on the Pacific. If you are looking for a views of the Golden Gate Bridge and nearby cliffs, head slightly to Baker Beach. The beach has picnic areas and access to hiking trails. Entry to the beaches is free which is great for the more money conscious student.
City tours – If you are curious about exploring the beautiful city of San Francisco take guided city tour from one of the helpful local volunteers. Tours range in topics from 1850’s San Francisco to Alfred Hitchcock and last about 2 hours. These tours are free and a great activity for groups of students who have made San Francisco their new home away from home.
Really Really Free Market – Just as the name says, this market is really free! really! This unique market located in Dolores Park, gives anyone the opportunity to exchange anything: whether it be ideas, skills, entertainment, discussions, or homemade items. Why not stop by and exchange knowledge and trinkets from your home with the locals. The market happens on the last Saturday of every month.
Alcatraz Prison Tours – Located on a small island, Alcatraz prison floats waiting for you to explore it! You’ll get to go inside the famous prison known for holding some of America’s most rutheless criminals, including Al Capone. A great site for movie fanatics and history buffs.
